Native Pond Plant - Water Snowflake - 16 - WSF

The snowflake aquatic plant resembles a small water lily, clusters of small white flowers.

The preferred habitat is ponds, ditches with standing water and lake margins.

The leaves are simple (one part), cordate (heart - shaped), no teeth and no lobes with rounded tip. The leaf stalks are conspicuously dotted with reddish - purple and fused to them stem.

The flowers are attached below the leaf and floating in clusters. Each flower has five petals, five sepals, and five stamens. The colour is white with yellow centre.

Plants can be sent by postal service from Western Australia to the rest of Australia as their is no quarantine rections.
